Iranian president Hassan Rouhani branded Trump administration officials as “liars” and “confused” as Tehran lashed out at Washington’s move to impose sanctions on the Islamic republic’s supreme leader and top diplomat.
伊朗总统哈桑•鲁哈尼(Hassan Rouhani)称特朗普政府的官员是“骗子”且“令人困惑”。德黑兰方面猛烈抨击了美国要对该伊斯兰共和国最高领导人及外交部长实施制裁的举动。
Mr Rouhani said on Tuesday that a move by US president Donald Trump to ratchet up pressure by targeting Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif showed White House officials “do not know what they are doing”.
鲁哈尼周二表示，美国总统唐纳德•特朗普(Donald Trump)针对阿亚图拉阿里•哈梅内伊(Ayatollah Ali Khamenei)和外交部长穆罕默德•贾瓦德•扎里夫(Mohammad Javad Zarif)实施制裁、以此加大施压力度的举措，显示出白宫官员“不知道自己在做什么”。
Mr Trump responded on Twitter by accusing Iranian leaders of not understanding “reality” and warning that an attack on “anything American” by Iran would be “met with great and overwhelming force”. He added: “In some areas, overwhelming will mean obliteration.”
特朗普在Twitter上做出了回应，他指责伊朗领导人看不清“现实”，并警告称，伊朗对“任何美国事物”的攻击将“遭遇巨大的和压倒性的力量”。他补充道：“在某些领域，压倒性意味着毁灭。”
Sanctions against Mr Khamenei and his office are unlikely to have much economic impact, but they are viewed as highly provocative in Iran and will fuel suspicions that Washington is pushing for regime change.
针对哈梅内伊及其办公室的制裁不会产生多大经济影响，但伊朗人认为这些制裁非常有挑衅意味，同时，此举也将加剧外界对华盛顿方面推动伊朗政权更迭的怀疑。
Iran’s foreign ministry said the sanctions were an act that “blocks diplomacy forever”. Mr Rouhani said “any government with an iota of wisdom and prudence cannot impose sanctions against the most senior authority of a country”.
伊朗外交部表示，制裁是一种“会永久性堵塞外交路径”的行为。鲁哈尼表示，“但凡一个稍微理智、谨慎的政府都不会对一国的最高权威实施制裁”。
